AEGIS LOGISTICS has five businesses:
Tank storage and terminalling - port handling and storage of oil, chemicals and petroleum products.
Chemical distribution - sourcing, marketing and distribution of liquid and solid chemicals.
Gas storage and distribution - LPG import, storage and bulk distribution.
Petroleum distribution - sourcing, marketing and distribution of oil and petroleum products.
Logistics management services - supply chain management for customers using oil, gas and chemicals.

AEGIS, an ISO 9001-2000 & ISO 14001-1996 certified company, is one of the India's leading logistics companies. Our mission is to provide solutions for moving oil, gas and chemicals from manufacturers to end users.
We offer customers sourcing of raw materials, tank storage and terminalling, arranging transportation and on-site management of materials at the customer's site.

COMPANY HISTORY
AEGIS was founded in 1956, and started operations as a speciality chemicals manufacturer in 1967 with a formaldehyde plant in Vapi, Gujarat.
In 1970 the company (then known as Atul Drug House) started India's first pentaerythritol plant, and became an important supplier to the paints industry.
In 1977 the company set up a port terminal in Mumbai able to handle ships carrying cargoes of chemicals.
In 1981, AEGIS diversified further into manufacturing another speciality chemical: natural fatty alcohols based on vegetable oils. Again, AEGIS was a pioneer in manufacturing such chemicals in India and began to export to world markets in the US, Japan and Europe.

SERVICES :
LIQUID TERMINAL
AEGIS provides logistics to importers and exporters of liquid oil, chemicals and petroleum products.
It has established since 1977 a marine terminal at Mumbai port, which is one of India's largest private sector facilities.
Mumbai port is strategically located In the western region of India and is in the heartland of India's chemical and petrochemical belt.
The terminal is located on a 20-acre plot at Mahul, Trombay; It is connected to three Jetties at Mumbai Port.
Old Pir Pau Jetty, which has a draft of 6 to 7 meters and pier length of 160 meters and accepts maximum ship size of 15,000 DWT.
New Pir Pau Jetty with a draft of 10.6 to 11.1 meters, LOA of 197 meters and accepts maximum ship size of 35,000 DWT. Night time navigation is possible at this jetty.
Butcher Island (Jawahar Dweep): AEGIS is connected to three berths in this island with a draft of 10.5 meters and LOA of 225 meters.
PETROLEUM DISTRIBUTION
WITH the gradual deregulation of the petroleum industry, more products will be permitted to be marketed by the private sector.
AEGIS intends to become an important niche player in distributing such petroleum products to industrial customers and direct consumers using its proven expertise in logistics.
GAS STORAGE AND DISTRIBUTION
IN ASSOCIATION with Hindustan Aegis LPG Bottling Company Ltd, Aegis operates a 20,000 MT fully refrigerated LPG terminal.
The terminal has state-of-the-art safety features such as full containment design LPG storage tanks, remote control water curtain, gas detectors, automatic shut off systems and remote control valves.
The terminal is connected to Pir Pau Jetty (which can accept ships of up to 35,000 DWT) by 12" low temperature steel pipelines with maximum unloading capacity of 400 MT/hour.
