The company is the world leader in integrated power plant, in power production services and air quality control systems. Alstom works with all energy forms (coal, gas, nuclear, fuel-oil, hydropower, wind) and is a leader in environmental protection (reduction of CO2 emissions, reduction of nitrogen oxide emissions..). In the field of rail transport, Alstom is the global number one in terms of orders. The technological advance of Alstom allowed the company to achieve the world rail speed record at a speed of 574.8 kph on 3 April 2007.
